BLUE REFLECTION Quartet Tier Lists

Honest pre-launch party rankings based on series roles and flexibility—Quartet balance may differ after July 2026.

Tier lists for BLUE REFLECTION Quartet arrive in an unusual moment: the compilation launches July 30, 2026, and several rankings below extrapolate from BLUE REFLECTION: Second Light, BLUE REFLECTION: SUN, and announced Quartet roster additions—not from finished Quartet-only balance passes. Gust has added eight optional party members to Second Light and rebuilt SUN with Second Light combat, so role overlap and Talent costs may shift once players log hundreds of hours on console builds. Treat every tier here as a planning scaffold, then revisit after launch patches documented on updates.

Why pre-launch rankings still help

Even without final DPS spreadsheets, Reflector squads follow recurring patterns: someone must stabilize Timeline tempo with heals or Slow, someone must spike Gear for Ether Tide setups, and someone must break attributes or Knockdown windows. Series history tells us which characters shipped with stronger Ether Recovery kits, better Support Orders, or Fragment grids that activate at Gear 2 instead of Gear 5. That knowledge saves Talent points before you commit to Quartet-exclusive guests who duplicate a core role.

We separate rankings by title because saves do not cross games inside the launcher:

Original BLUE REFLECTION (2017) does not use the Gear/Fragment grid meta; power comes from bond-gated growth and Overdrive chains. We reference that game in builds instead of letter tiers because comparing Hinako’s trio to Ao’s party misleads newcomers.

How tiers are judged (pre-launch criteria)

Each character is scored on five axes weighted toward Second Light/SUN combat:

  1. Ether Recovery contribution — Personal speed and party-wide buffs that reach Gear 4–5 before boss phase shifts.
  2. Role flexibility — Can the unit heal, break, or buff if Fragments and Talents are repointed?
  3. Fragment synergy — Does their Date pool favor early Active Gear pieces?
  4. Support Order value — Bench utility when not in the active trio.
  5. Quartet exclusives — New episodes, recruitment quest cost, and Reference database ties—not raw power alone.

Letters (S / A / B / C) express relative priority within a title, not absolute power across the whole compilation. A SUN A-tier healer is not automatically stronger than a Second Light B-tier DPS when Gear caps differ by chapter.

Honest limitations

  • Quartet balance may differ from standalone Second Light or delisted SUN mobile tuning.
  • Talent and Fragment investments can elevate low-tier story guests above high-tier bench warmers on your account.
  • Patch notes after launch can reorder tiers overnight—subscribe to the updates hub rather than treating this page as permanent gospel.
  • Spoiler-free rankings avoid late-story skill names; tiers assume standard progression without finale-only mechanics.

Pair rankings with mechanical depth:

  • Combat systems for Ether Tide, Knockdown, and back attacks.
  • Builds for Fragment grids and skill loadouts that implement tier advice.
  • Walkthrough hub for recruitment timing—some Quartet guests arrive too late to justify S-tier investment on a first clear.
  • Review hub if you are deciding whether to play SUN before Second Light for roster familiarity.

Speedrunners and completionists should also open the playtime planner—tier chasing every optional recruit extends campaign length beyond the seventy- to eighty-hour collection estimate.

After launch maintenance

Once Quartet is live, we will revise tiers using community clear data, boss turn counts, and any Gust statements about SUN rebuild modifiers. Until then, use these lists to ask better questions (“Do I need two healers in SUN Chapter 12?”) rather than to dismiss characters you enjoy for story reasons. Emotional resonance is half the series’ design; tiers only cover the combat half.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Are these tier lists final for Quartet?

No. They are pre-launch estimates from series roles and Second Light/SUN mechanics. Expect revisions after July 2026 launch and patches—watch updates.

Why is there no tier list for original BLUE REFLECTION?

Its bond-based growth and skill-socketed Fragments do not map cleanly to Gear-grid rankings. See builds instead.

Which tier list should I read first?

Follow your current game icon: Second Light party for the finale, SUN squad during the rebuild arc.

Do Quartet-exclusive characters rank higher automatically?

Not always. Exclusives are noted for recruitment cost and story value, but tiers prioritize combat flexibility and Ether Recovery first.

How do tiers interact with Fragment hunting?

Higher-tier roles suggest where Dates and Talents return the most value. Pair with fragments and bonds and builds.
