Week Two Post-Launch Status

BLUE REFLECTION Quartet has been live for about two weeks as of August 13, 2026. Steam unlocked July 29; PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 followed July 30. This page is the wiki’s week-two status board—what changed since first-week coverage, what did not, and which planning pages to open next. Pair it with release news for chronology, known issues for bugs, and critical reception for the August review wave.

Headline status (August 13, 2026)

TopicStatus
Storefront availabilityOut now on Steam, PS5, Switch, Switch 2
Game versionStill 1.0.0 on reported Switch 2 builds; no published day-one or week-two patch notes
Preorder Photo Mode framesClosed — required purchase before July 29
Free Quartet Photo Mode frameExpired August 12, 2026 — redemption window closed
Motion blur toggle (Second Light)Still locked on — top community patch request
Review waveCapsule (Aug 5), Nintendo Insider (Aug 6), COG Connected, RPG Site tech feature live
Western physicalStill digital-only; Japan boxes unchanged

Nothing in official KOEI TECMO messaging contradicts the launch package described on what’s included. The biggest practical change for buyers is cosmetic: both Photo Mode promotions are now historical, not actionable.

Bonus windows — both closed

Preorder four-frame set

The Second Light four special Photo Mode frames required a digital purchase before July 29, 2026. New buyers after that date cannot claim them. Details remain archived on preorder bonuses for collectors who already redeemed.

Free limited Quartet frame

The free Quartet Photo Mode frame was redeemable until August 12, 2026. As of August 13 that window is closed. Official notes always warned the frame might return as paid DLC later—nothing confirmed. If you already redeemed, frames stay on the Second Light Photo Mode list for that platform account.

Switch and Switch 2 remain separate products: a frame on one SKU never transfers to the other. See Switch vs Switch 2.

Patches — still waiting

As of August 13, Gust and KOEI TECMO have not published a numbered patch beyond 1.0.0. Community priorities from known issues and RPG Site’s tech feature remain unchanged:

  1. Second Light motion blur toggle — existed on older PC builds; missing in Quartet
  2. Switch 2 visual/performance expectations — hard 30fps; docked image trails PS5 sharply
  3. PC handheld CPU load — Steam Deck Verified works, but defaults and school-hub spikes need care (PC and Steam Deck)
  4. Switch 1 load times — Second Light transitions still measured in the 46–68 second range in public tests

When an official patch lands, this page and the updates hub will lead with version number, download size, and fix summary. Until then, treat performance advice on platform comparison as current.

Week-two media and review signal

First-week outlets (RPG Site, PlayStation LifeStyle, GAMESTIC, Handheld Players) already framed Quartet as strong for newcomers and optional for Second Light veterans. Week two added sharper takes:

  • Capsule Computers (August 5) — scored 5/10, praising the two mainline JRPGs while calling RAY bare-bones (~1 hour) and SUN undercooked; criticized missing legacy DLC and presentation edits.
  • Nintendo Insider (August 6) — Switch 2 review stresses 30fps everywhere, modest visual gains, and weak value if you already own Second Light on Switch.
  • COG Connected — more positive on value (four games under the price of the old PS4 original), cozy Persona-lite structure, ~100-hour backlog potential for genre fans.
  • RPG Site tech feature — definitive buying map: PC/PS5 for TV, ROG Ally > Steam Deck > Switch 2 > Switch 1 for portable play.

Full synthesis lives on critical reception and launch impressions. Value math: worth buying.

What players should do this week

  1. Skip expired bonuses — do not hunt store menus for August 12 frame codes; they are gone.
  2. Confirm your SKU once — no Switch ↔ Switch 2 save transfer; no legacy import.
  3. Raise Steam Deck textures — Verified badge does not mean default presets look good.
  4. Follow the saga order if new — BLUE REFLECTION → RAY → SUN → Second Light (recommended play order).
  5. Track completion — teased all-clear bonus still mapped on completion bonus and completion checklist.
  6. Watch patches hereupdates hub and this page for version bumps past 1.0.0.

Storage and language reminders

Plan roughly 55GB on Steam/PS5 and about 34.7GB on Switch 2 (Handheld Players 1.0.0 figure). Text languages remain English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese with Japanese voice only—see languages and audio.
