BLUE REFLECTION Quartet Platforms and Requirements
Choose PS5, Steam, Switch, or Switch 2 with clear expectations on performance, storage, and cross-platform saves.
Supported platforms at launch
BLUE REFLECTION Quartet launches around July 29–30, 2026 on four platform families:
- PlayStation 5
- Nintendo Switch
- Nintendo Switch 2
- Steam (app ID 3825390)
Each version contains the same four games—BLUE REFLECTION, RAY, SUN, and Second Light—plus the Reference Database and Mel Kishida Gallery. Platform choice therefore comes down to performance preferences, handheld play, existing libraries, and whether you need Japanese voice with specific subtitle languages covered on the Languages and audio page.
Quartet is a large compilation. Budget time for downloads or day-one patches regardless of console generation.
Nintendo Switch versus Switch 2 — separate products
KOEI TECMO treats Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 as separate products. That has two practical consequences:
- Purchases do not cross-grade automatically. Buying the Switch eShop listing does not unlock the Switch 2 listing, and vice versa.
- There is no save transfer between Switch and Switch 2 versions.
If you plan to migrate hardware later in 2026, decide upfront which cartridge or digital license you will keep. Long playtimes—roughly 70 to 80 hours for the full saga—make mid-progress platform switches painful. Handheld players who prioritize Second Light’s open zones may favor Switch 2 for smoother framerates; docked-only players should compare PS5 and Steam instead.
This limitation does not affect PS5 or Steam ecosystems, which follow each platform’s normal account-based entitlements.
PlayStation 5 expectations
The PS5 build targets living-room play with DualSense features where supported and relatively fast loading across four title icons. All four games share the compilation launcher, so storage planning matters: install sizes stack because each remaster or rebuild occupies its own chunk of SSD space.
PS5 is a strong default if you want consistent performance without tweaking PC settings. Pair console setup with our Getting started guide and Recommended play order before committing to marathon sessions.
Steam PC requirements
Valve’s storefront lists the following specifications for app 3825390. Storage is identical between tiers—55 GB—so SSD space is the main bottleneck for PC installs.

| CPU | Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM |
| GPU | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon R9 380X |
| DirectX | Version 11 |
| Storage | 55 GB available space |

PC tuning tips for Quartet
Second Light’s open areas and SUN’s rebuilt battles benefit from the recommended tier. On minimum hardware, expect to lean on compilation battle speed and event skip options documented in QoL features. An SSD materially reduces texture pop-in when hopping between the four games’ menus.
Steam Deck compatibility was not confirmed at announcement—verify Proton reports after launch via Updates before assuming handheld PC play.
Storage and installation planning
Fifty-five gigabytes on Steam is the listed footprint; console installs may differ slightly with compression or optional language packs. Because Quartet bundles four distinct titles plus gallery assets, uninstalling unrelated games before preload week is wise.
Downloads include:
- Remastered BLUE REFLECTION and Second Light texture packs
- Rebuilt SUN data sets
- Condensed RAY still and voice assets
- Reference Database and Mel Kishida Gallery media
None of that shares save data with legacy standalone releases—plan fresh installs. See What’s Included for per-game scope.
Performance-related quality-of-life
All platforms inherit compilation toggles: faster movement, adjustable battle speed, event skip and fast-forward, higher-resolution textures where applicable, and autosave behavior carried forward from originals. These settings help weaker hardware more than raw resolution sliders—read QoL features before tweaking.
Photo mode additions in Second Light—including Preorder bonus frames—add negligible gameplay overhead but extra gallery storage for captured shots on console share systems.
Choosing your platform
| Priority | Suggested platform |
|---|---|
| Highest framerate and load times | PS5 or Steam (recommended spec) |
| Handheld-first play | Switch or Switch 2—pick one permanently |
| Mod-friendly ecosystem | Steam |
| Physical collection | PS5 or Switch family retail SKUs when available |
Whichever you choose, text support covers English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese with Japanese voice as the primary audio track.
