What Is Not Included in BLUE REFLECTION Quartet

Why “not included” matters as much as the feature list

Marketing for BLUE REFLECTION Quartet emphasizes four games, rebuilt SUN combat, eight Second Light party members, and a Reference Database with Mel Kishida artwork. Equally important is what KOEI TECMO did not promise: legacy DLC imports, save transfers from defunct SUN servers, English voice acting, or à la carte purchases of individual titles. Misreading those absences causes refund requests and forum arguments within the first week of July 29–30, 2026 launch. Legacy DLC — two costumes included, most packs excluded

The July 4, 2026 official clarification changed how buyers should read “DLC.” Quartet does include two legacy costume sets that originally shipped as early-purchase exclusives:

1. BLUE REFLECTION School Swimsuits (スクール水着)
2. Second Light Ao’s Summer Bikini (愛央 真夏のビキニ)

Those outfits are baseline for all buyers—no separate store purchase required. Full history lives on Included DLC.

Everything else from standalone 2017–2021 releases remains outside Quartet:

• Most Steam DLC packs sold as separate store listings after launch windows
• Map expansions and battle add-ons from legacy SKUs
• SUN mobile/PC microtransactions from the discontinued service
• Receipt redemption — you cannot unlock old purchases inside Quartet’s launcher

No save-data bonuses from old games

Quartet requires fresh saves. There is:

• No save import from PS4/PC/Switch Second Light
• No SUN account recovery from the service that ended in 2024
• No cross-save between Switch and Switch 2 Nintendo listings
• No bonus items for proving you cleared earlier versions elsewhere

Digital-only in the West — Japan physical exists

KOEI TECMO America’s pre-order and announcement materials describe Quartet as a digital-only Western release on PS5, Switch, Switch 2, and Steam. That means:

• No announced standard physical case for North America or Europe at pre-launch
• No collector’s edition with steelbooks or soundtrack discs in Western messaging

No English voice acting

Quartet supports English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese text, but Japanese voice is the sole fully voiced track across the compilation. Famitsu and official site coverage confirm:

• RAY received fully voiced, re-recorded anime lines—still Japanese performances
• SUN rebuild includes newly recorded Japanese dialogue for added episodes
• No English dub announcement accompanied Western pre-orders

Subtitle readers should configure text once in the shared launcher per Languages and audio. Anime importers hoping for English performances need to look elsewhere.

No individual title sales inside Quartet

Quartet sells as one package. You cannot:

• Purchase only Second Light inside the compilation
• Buy SUN separately after owning the rest
• Upgrade from a partial bundle to the full collection at a discount mid-playthrough

This mirrors other KOEI TECMO compilations: one SKU, one price point—commonly cited around fifty dollars on Steam—covering the entire saga. If you only want one game, legacy standalone copies (where still available) or sales on older ports may be cheaper, but they lack SUN rebuild and RAY interactivity.

No Switch-to-Switch 2 upgrade path

Beyond DLC and saves, Nintendo buyers face a hardware split:

• Switch and Switch 2 are separate products
• No free upgrade from Switch purchase to Switch 2
• No save transfer between them

Content removed or altered versus originals
